What's up what's up what's up? Here's what's up with me..
With fundraising right now we are still working on getting things ready for our silent auction in April. Looks like we have some great prizes.
Our Brazil team just had our first solo get together without team Nepal. We watched an amazing documentary called Favela Rising. I'm attaching the link..http://www.viewchange.org/videos/favela-rising WATCH IT. It follows an amazing man named Anderson Sá who grew up in the favelas (huge squatter settlements) of Rio de Janeiro, fed up with the violence and suffering of his people he decides to give children a way out through music, specifically Afro Reggae. He helps people see past a life of violence and drugs to a future they can be proud of. It also shows police corruption, an interesting insight is that the police are the subject of the most prejudice and that they are highly underpaid. So yes.. Watch it. We will not be put in unsafe situations like there are in this video though so do not worry!
At the moment team Brazil is scrambling around to get our visa applications handed in as they may take awhile and we have been informed kind of late. That being said our leaders are amazing and have been working their butts off to pull everything together!
Less than 2 months and we are on our way!!! If you would like to donate check out my second blog post and follow those directions :) Cheers...
Oh P.S. we won our tuesday soccer game!! Gooo team Culture Shock :)
